How to Equip a Public Restroom the Right Way

When you think of public restrooms, do you think of the disgusting, unkempt bathrooms that are the first thing that comes to mind? If so, we don’t blame you. Most public restrooms are not ideal places to spend any time in at all. But there is some good news: it’s easier than ever before for business owners and property managers to equip their restrooms with items designed to keep them clean and inviting for customers, employees and guests alike!

Make it enticing

The first thing you need to do is make sure your restroom is inviting. It should be clean, well lit and easy to find. In addition to these basic amenities, it’s also important that you keep the bathroom stocked with toilet paper, soap and paper towels (and maybe even some hand sanitizer).

The second step in equipping a public restroom is making sure it’s accessible for everyone who needs to use it-including people with disabilities or physical limitations. If there are multiple stalls in your facility, make sure each one has an automatic door opener so that no one has trouble entering or exiting the stall itself; this will also help prevent accidents from occurring due to doors being left open when they shouldn’t be open!

Provide the basics

The basics are pretty straightforward: toilet paper, hand soap and paper towels. But if you want to go above and beyond, there are some additional items you can include in your public restroom kit.

Tissues: These will come in handy if someone needs a tissue for their nose or eyes after washing their hands (or if they get sick).

Personal care products: Include things like hand sanitizer, lotion, lip balm and wipes/tissues that can be used as makeup remover pads or facial blotting sheets-all of which can help people feel more comfortable while they’re waiting in line at the drugstore or supermarket.

Toilet seat covers: If there’s ever been an argument against installing automatic flushers on toilets in public spaces (and there hasn’t), then think about this one: You don’t know how many germs were left behind by previous occupants!

Install a baby changing table

Baby changing tables are important for both parents and babies. They should be installed in restrooms that are used by families and not just those with the most traffic, because some people will avoid using public restrooms if they don’t have a baby changing table available. There are many ways to install these: wall mounts, freestanding units, or even portable models that can be moved from location to location as needed (although this may not be ideal for busy establishments).

Arrange for a family restroom

A family restroom is a bathroom that’s equipped with the amenities you’d find in a typical private restroom. It can include lockable stalls and doors, diaper changing stations or tables, sinks and mirrors–the works!

In order to ensure that everyone has access to these facilities, it’s important that you arrange for one (or more) at every event you host. If you’re planning an outdoor event where there are no buildings available nearby, consider renting porta-potties. They must have family restrooms attached so your guests don’t have far to go when they need them most!

Restroom signs

Restroom signs are one of the most important elements of a public restroom. They indicate where the facility is and its intended use. Restroom signs help visitors know exactly where they should go to relieve themselves, and what they can expect when they arrive. It’s important that these signs are clearly visible to everyone in the area and that they have a professional appearance.

Supplies that should be provided

Hand soap should be provided in a dispenser, preferably one with separate compartments for each hand. This allows users to wash their hands thoroughly without having to touch anything but the dispenser itself.

Instead of toilet paper, install an efficient electric hand dryer that automatically dries your hands in seconds rather than minutes. This reduces the risk of contamination from touching contaminated surfaces or sharing towels.

Toiletries such as toothbrushes and mouthwash should always be available in case anyone needs them. Especially if they’ve got food allergies. It’s also helpful if these items come with instructions on how best to use them!

Add seating if you’re able to do so!

If you’re able to do so, add seating to your public restroom! Comfort is important and adding a bench or chair can help people stay comfortable while they’re using the bathroom. Seating can also be used as a place to rest your feet when they get tired from standing for too long. It’s also helpful if there is some sort of waiting for area outside of the stall. It gives people something else to do besides just stand around. They awkwardly wait for someone else who may have already used up all their time inside.

I know that this can be a daunting task, but don’t worry! It’s easier than you think and it will help keep your customers happy. I hope this article has given you some ideas on how to equip your restrooms.
